Are there any studies that show those on vegetarian diets are healthier or live longer?
and get less cancer?
I’m not talking about studies showing overweight vs. skinny people, but let’s say both weighing the same, vegetarian vs. someone who includes meat in their diet.

Yes. If you read "The China Study" by Dr. T. Colin Campbell, you’ll learn about many studies done to prove that vegetarian and vegan diets are MUCH healthier than diets consisting of meat.

Nope. scientists have better things to do. And the China study isn’t even respected in the medical community. the book is not at all detailed, the authors fail show enough correlations in their data, and they do not like to cite their claims a lot throughout the book. its main agenda is to promote veganism and vegetarianism.

I am nutrition student and we are actually reading the "China Study" in my Food Dynamics class. The book is based on scientific studies which all seem to promote a vegetarian diet. It is certainly respected in the medical community considering it is part of my NYU curriculum.
