6 Gift Ideas for Vegetarians in your Life

Hi! This is Kardena Pauza from www.Kardenaskitchen.com and www.EasyVeggieMealPlans.com and Happy Holidays to all of you.
It’s that time of year to buy all those gifts for your special friends and family members. If you don’t know what to buy that vegetarian friend in your life, I’m going to help you with some great healthy ideas they will love.
My first suggestion is a reusable Chico bag. I use these all the time. It’s so small that I can carry it in my purse and I can open it up wherever I need it. These are also really great to use when you go to a farmer’s market.
A dehydrator is also a great idea for a gift. You can make crackers, natural fruit roll-ups or the holiday scones that I showed you last week.
The 3rd gift idea is a powerful blender. Mine is a 3HP blender. It’s amazing how strong it is, but well worth it. If you don’t want to spend that much, you can try a little blender called “The Magic Blender”. It’s so fast and easy to use, this is a great idea. It’s also very budget friendly.
Another idea is a Vegetarian cookbook. Let’s say your vegetarian friends get a little bored with their cookbooks, this will be a great gift. My Easy Veggie Meal Plans have about 250 different meals and recipes and it is also an amazing 90-day weight loss plan!
I like to have structure and know what I’m going to be eating and it’s nice to get these types of gifts, especially during this time of year. I’ve been to many holiday parties already and it is a challenge to stay on track. But having a plan in place, like the Easy Veggie Meal Plans really helps you get back on track and stay on track!
You can give some gift certificates to vegetarian stores or health food stores. I am always shopping in them, so it’s great to get that extra certificate to use since I’m always shopping in them. Who doesn’t like that?
Finally, a sprouting jar with lids is a great gift to give. You can find packets of lids that have different sizes. One reason this is such a nice gift is you can save a lot of money by sprouting seeds yourself. They are very inexpensive to buy vs. sprouted seeds which can cost much more.

It’s Thanksgiving time and we have some really yummy foods to eat. I love cranberry and pumpkin so today I’m going to show you a really healthy and easy seasonal smoothie. It’s a pumpkin spice smoothie that tastes a lot like pumpkin pie filling. This smoothie has about 15-20 grams of protein and over 10 grams of fiber!
I’m using 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree. You can either get it canned or baki it yourself. Guys, double up on the pumpkin (1 cup).
I soaked almonds and cashews in water for about 12 hours and am going to add 10-12 almonds and 6 cashews. This will add creaminess as well as some healthy essential fat.
Add the 1/8 tsp. each of pumpkin spice and cinnamon. You can add the nutmeg to taste, so I’m going to add couple of dashes. Next add about 1/4 tsp. of vanilla extract and a couple of dashes of mineral salts. These pick up all the flavors and make them “pop”. Add about 1T of coconut oil if you want. This will add a little bit of a creamy texture and flavor.
We have good fats and protein from the nuts, but we’re still going to add some more protein. I am going to add about 1T Rice brand Protein and I find it very easy to digest. It has about 12 grams of protein and 1 gram of carbohydrates.
For sweetner, you can use raw honey, agave nectar or maple syrup. I’m going to use about 4 dates in mine. I’m also going to use a little bit of stevia. This particular stevia is the leaf that is ground up, so it is actually green in color. I like that because it’s the most whole form of the stevia. It’s very potent, so you don’t need to add too much.
I alreay had about 1 to 1-1/2 cup of water and ice to the blender and now it’s ready to go! My blender is 3hp so it may be a little loud!
You can test it out and change it up a bit if you need to. This will give you about 20 ounces of smoothie and will make a great breakfast. I’m going to be drinking this a lot over the holiday season.
Oh, almost forgot! You want to keep this smoothie as green as possible, so add something like spinach and blend it right up! This added nutrients and vitamins from the spinach. Keep it green!
