How many animals do you "save" by going vegetarian?
How many do you save yearly going vegetarian, if you even do save any, that is. "Save" could also mean keeping animals from being bred so they can be murdered.
The average vegetarian spares the lives of over 50 animals each year. That adds up to thousands during a lifetime. Every time we eat, we are making a powerful choice that has profound consequences on the lives of animals. At each meal, we make a decision between supporting cruelty or living compassionately.

You don’t actually save animals. If we didn’t eat them, they would never have had the opportunity to live since it’s an economic thing.

Well, I don’t think that one person alone saves any animals, but if at least half of the world was vegetarian then it would make a BIG difference.

Vegetarians help lower the demand for meat and animal clothes. Vegetarians also increase the demand for meat alternatives. We don’t directly save animals lives, but we hurt the sales of meat companies by forcing them to produce less meat than if everyone ate meat. For ex: If 10 people out of 10 people ate meat, the company could produce enough meat for 10 people and make a profit off of all 10 people. But if only 7 people out of 10 people ate meat, the company would earn less profit, because they would only be earning money off of 7 people, instead of 10.

You actually save around 10 animals each minute you eat a vegiburger and 20 for every tofu hot dog you eat. What I would be more concerned about is how much time you waste caring about animals. There are so many other things to be worried about like what’s on Sportscenter and what is happening on Lost. I hope that you really work on spending your energies on more fruitful questions and thoughts. Let hippies worry about cows and pigs. Now go fry up some bacon and wash it down with some beef broth.

None, domestic animals are bred & raised just for food.
If we didn’t buy them for food, farmers would not raise them.
However, we need protein to survive; & we can’t eat grass.

The question is impossible to get an answer to.
Consider by you going vegetarian, how many other people do you influence also? Consider how much animal products you used before you went vegetarian.
You see, I don’t know what you previously ate. How much meat you ate before, or how much meat an average person would eat. I can tell you, my family of 4 would go through the whole beast (of beef) in one year. And that’s small portions. A family of three goes through one small foul in one sitting.
