Medi-Studies info for Vegetarians and Vegans

The long awaited Grand Opening of Main Essentials vegan restaurant in Nyack has finally come. As their biggest fan and real estate broker that found them their new location at 145 Main Street in Nyack, I am very proud to announce that they are open for business and word is spreading fast. There is nothing else like it. Even if you’re not a vegetarian, you will not believe how delicious healthy vegan food can be.

Yes, Govinda’s really IS my favorite restaurant! While getting ready to record this video I met Krsna Arjuna, a devotee, who was more than happy to provide a little history in my other video from inside the temple adjacent to Govinda’s. I don’t know how long Hare Krishna has been in Denver but I remember them from the 70s and have been eating at Govinda’s since about 1990. I’ve never been able to get there as often as I’d like since it’s a considerable distance from my home and work. Nevertheless, I try to stop by anytime I’m in that part of Denver – the food really is fantastic!

By the looks of the dishes and the menu, Cinnamon Vegetarian Restaurant in Highland Park, may blend in with the rest of the Mexican restaurants in the area, but don’t be fooled. This restaurant serves no meat whatsoever, but restaurant manager Esperanza Cano and her staff have perfected the flavors of Mexico in their vegan and vegetarian dishes. Cano’s brother opened the restaurant 5 years ago and she runs it. She says they purposely opened the restaurant in a primarily Hispanic area. At Cinnamon, she says, great taste and tradition are not compromised when making healthy versions of Mexican favorites.

Here in Cuenca you can eat out for lunch for just $2.50 or less! The food is wholesome and fresh plus they serve you a lot of food. Usually an Ecuadorian lunch meal consists of a first course of soup, the main meal, and maybe a dessert, and either yogurt juice, or freshly squeezed fruit juice. It is amazing the amount of food for the price.
