Today Dr. Coldwell talks about being on a vegan diet, supplements and as always the best way to avoid and cure disease. What an amazing man. See not all doctors are bad. lol.
I am trying to come up with reasons why vegetarian diets are not so healthy. All I have so far is that they tend to lack important vitamins and nutrients (iron, omega-3′s..so on). I seriously can’t think of anything else…any ideas?
I’m a vegetarian so I don’t think they’re bad, I just have to write a paper that is about the opposing side.
Hey, I’m afraid this won’t be much help but I wouldn’t actually say they’re bad for you at all!
They do not lack anything. We can get all the nutrition we need without animal products.
http://preventosteoporosis-improveyourbones.com/what-part-can-diet-and-nutrition-play-in-preventing-or-reversing-osteoporosis/ A slightly alkaline body chemistry, which comes from eating a lot of plant foods — vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains, nuts and seeds, etc. — is required for good bone health. A diet high in animal protein results in an acidic body chemistry, which our bodies attempt to buffer by withdrawing alkaline minerals, i.e., calcium, from our bones.
Research has shown that diets too high in protein greatly increase the amount of calcium released from our bones and excreted in the urine. In a study on the effects of diets containing varying amounts of protein on the bones of women with osteoporosis, raising daily protein intake from 47 to 142 grams doubled the amount of calcium lost in their urine. This is one reason why vegetarian diets (both those that include dairy products and eggs as well as vegan diets) are associated with a lower risk of developing osteoporosis.

If somebody asks how you get enough protein on a vegan diet, just ask them “what is protein?” They won${q}t know, but Bill gives the answer and if you remember it you${q}ll win hands down next time. All the essential amino acids, fatty acids, and true vitamins are made only by plants. But how come all the phytonutrients and antioxidants are also made only by plants? What${q}s the difference between an essential nutrient and an essential metabolite, and why do we keep on with that shaggy 1904 neologism “Vitamin” when all it does is confuse the question? Is our poor conversion rate of the carotenoids to retinoids evidence that we${q}re really carnivores or is it evidence that we${q}re plant eaters trying to stay out of retinoid toxicity? Are nuts a healthy part of the human diet or are they too high in fat? Our gurus push for high carb, low fat diets, what about the other side of the fence that says just the opposite? Should everybody take flaxseed or may there be some problems? I${q}m a health vegetarian, why should I care about animal rights or the environment? What${q}s the best thing about a vegan diet? It${q}s full of fiber. What${q}s the worst thing about a vegan diet? It${q}s full of fiber. A fairly technical lecture, so see how far you can get.

So, a vegetarian diet does help you lose weight when you eat the right
type of vegetarian food.
I understand that it’s difficult to stick to a vegetarian diet with all
the whole natural foods as the ingredients unless you’re working in the comfort
of your own home.
Don’t try to do it over few days.
The key
is, make the changes naturally.
