Mike Tyson on His Vegan Diet: “I wish I was born this way.”

Thursday, May 17th, 2012

More and more people like Tyson are singing the praises of a vegan diet and with good reason. It seems only yesterday that those who chose to embark on a vegan diet found themselves on the periphery of society. Today, thanks to celebrity converts and more restaurant and food choices, the diet is a completely realistic way of living and that’s a good thing for the planet as well considering that it takes up to 16 pounds of soybeans and grains to produce 1 pound of beef and 3 to 6 pounds to produce 1 pound of turkey and egg. Eating grains directly makes a huge difference.

What’s the other names for diets besides vegetarian and vegans?

Saturday, April 28th, 2012

I know there is pesicarian (misspell) who eat fish not meat, but what else is there? But I really want to know the name of the persons diet of food when they don’t eat meat, eat fish, and don’t eat dairy products, since thats how I eat.

Well, veganism is not a diet; veganism is, "a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practical — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of humans, animals and the environment."

But to answer your main question, there are just two diets.. vegetarianism and non-vegetarianism.

Also, fish *is* a type of meat. And since you eat meat, you are classed as non-vegetarian.

Will going on a vegetarian diet help me lose weight and get healthy?

Monday, January 16th, 2012

I dont eat sweets or salt.
I do like to eat meat but I want to lose weight in a healthy way.
It seems like my body feels better when I go on vegetarian diets, so will it help me lose weight as well?

Being a vegetarian does make you healthier, and can help you lose weight. It has been proven that if you are a vegetarian you have a lower chance of heart disease and cancer, and many others. Vegetarian diets tend to be lower in calories and higher in fiber, making you feel full on fewer calories. They can definitely help you shed unwanted pounds when done correctly.

Good luck on whatever you decide to do :)
